I have 52k in student loans, my wife has another 30k. The first question is should we consolidate them all togeather and 2nd question is what if we have a finacial hardship or some other unforseen event and cant make the payments. Does the William D Ford Federal Direct consolidation loan have deferment options like I do now with all these individual loans? Thank you all for your time.

I have student loans from a few different lenders. I know this sounds stupid but I’m not exactly sure how much I have out! First, how do I find that out and second, who consolidates student loans these days? It seems a little hard to find someone willing to do it.
Ok, talk to me like I’m 10 years old. I am not good at understanding this stuff! I need an answer that I can understand please.

I have federal student loans. I graduate next week and one will come due next month since it is the loan from my A.A.S. Degree. My other loan will come due in six months. Should I wait and consolidate the loans right before the six month time frame or do so now? I’m in a bit of a money crunch as it is difficult to find a new job but I also want to do the right thing. Thanks for you help!

On loan is a fixed interest rate at 6.8 (30k)and my other is a variable interest rate that just decreased to 3.61 (14k). What is the advantage to consolidating them if I am perfectly fine with the amount I pay on both per month? Is it a better long term plan to consolidate these two loans or would it be better to just leave them seperate and continue with my payments? Thanks to anyone that would know the answer.

I would like to get a debt consolidation loan for my outstanding debt from closed credit cards, old utility bills, etc

I have student loans, but I would like to consolidate them separatley and not through another loan.

Also, I have an auto loan, would the loan be able to cover that as well?

Please, real answers, and no opinions/judgements.

Thank You.

I am currently a sophmore at a 2 year college and transferring next year to a major university. I have about $4,700 in stafford student loans. Is it worth it to consolidate those loans to avoid the July 1st increase? Or should I just wait, since I’ll be taking out loans for when I transfer to the university.
